Attack on Nephilim

Updated: Feb 18

Artist:Francisco de Goya Year: 1808-1812

In my last post, I mentioned I would go into more detail about the giants or Nephilim mentioned in Genesis chapter 6 and the book of 1 Enoch. It’s quite terrifying to imagine and sounds like something from ancient mythology than it does real history. There is one show that I know of that really depicts what it must have looked like back then, minus a few things of course.

The Origins of the Nephilim

“And it came to be, when men began to increase on the face of the earth, and daughters were born to them, that the sons of Elohim saw the daughters of men, that they were good. And they took wives for themselves of all whom they chose.” (Genesis 6:1-2)

“The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of Elohim came in to the daughters of men and they bore children to them. Those were the mighty men who were of old, the men of name.” (Genesis 6:4)

“And it came to pass, when the sons of men had increased, that in those days there were born to them fair and beautiful daughters. And the Angels, the sons of Heaven, saw them and desired them. And they said to one another: “Come, let us choose for ourselves wives, from the children of men, and let us beget, for ourselves, children.” (1 Enoch 6:1-2)

The Size of the Nephilim

Angles were never meant to mate with humans, and it was from this union between Angelic fathers and human mothers that the mighty giants were born. These Nephilim were not just 6 feet tall or 8 feet tall as some may have you to believe, these beings were of monstrous proportions.

“And we saw there the Nephilim, sons of Anaq, of the Nephilim. And we were like grasshoppers in our own eyes, and so we were in their eyes. ” (Numbers 13:33)

“And the women conceiving brought forth giants, and they bore to them three races first, the great giants. The giants brought forth the Nephiliym, and the Nephiliym brought forth the Elioud. And they existed, increasing in power according to their greatness. 12 Whose stature was each three hundred cubits…” (1 Enoch 7:11-12)

300 cubits equal 450 feet tall! Can you imagine fighting giants as tall as a 34-story building? But that’s what the people on earth had to contend with before and after the flood. Although apparently, the giants shrunk in size considerably after the flood as seen here in the following passage.

“For only Oḡ sovereign of Bashan was left of the remnant of the Repha’ites. See, his bedstead was an iron bedstead. Is it not in Rabbah of the children of Ammon? Nine cubits is its length and four cubits its width, according to the cubit of a man.” (Deuteronomy 3:11)

The Repha'ites were an ancient tribe of giants and Og King of Bashan was only about 13 feet tall, a far cry from his ancestors of old.

What’s so Scary about Giants?

Back to the Nephilim before the flood, you might be wondering, “Ok, so they were huge what’s so scary about that?” Well, remember that show I alluded to earlier? The show I was talking about is an anime called Attack on Titan, in the story titans, which are giants, are eating people into extinction. Here’s what Enoch wrote on the matter.

“…These devoured all the labor of men; until it became impossible to feed them; 13 When they turned themselves against men, in order to devour them; And began to injure birds, beasts, reptiles, and fishes, to eat one another’s flesh and to drink their blood.” (1 Enoch 7:12-14)

It seems at first the giants might have enslaved or had some sort of deal made with the humans, “Keep us fed with your crops and livestock, and we won’t eat you.” Considering these guys got to 450 feet tall I would have complied too, but it seems the humans could not sustain them. So, they started eating the humans instead, along with the animals on the earth. But their ravenous hunger could still not be tamed and in the end, they turned to cannibalism. So great was the wickedness of the giants that YHWH sent Gabriel to take care of them.

“And to Gabriel said the Lord: 'Proceed against the bastards and the reprobates, and against the children of fornication: and destroy [the children of fornication and] the children of the Watchers from amongst men [and cause them to go forth]: send them one against the other that they may destroy each other in battle: for length of days shall they not have.” (1 Enoch 10: 13)

The Flood Wipes the Slate Clean

YHWH also brings about the legendary flood that completely wipes away all unrighteousness from the face of the earth.

“And the earth was corrupt before Elohim, and the earth was filled with violence. And Elohim looked upon the earth and saw that it was corrupt – for all flesh had corrupted their way on the earth –and Elohim said to Noah, “The end of all flesh has come before Me, for the earth is filled with violence through them. And see, I am going to destroy them from the earth.” (Genesis 6:11-13)

“Then said the Most High, the Holy and Great One spoke, and sent Uriel to the son of Lamech, and said to him: (Go to Noah) and tell him in my name "Hide thyself!" and reveal to him the end that is approaching: that the whole earth will be destroyed, and a deluge is about to come upon the whole earth, and will destroy all that is on it. And now instruct him that he may escape, and his seed may be preserved for all the generations of the world. (1 Enoch 10:1-5)

How the Existences of Giants Changes History

Knowing that giants existed in the past makes me wonder about the true history of the earth, how much of what they teach us is false? For sure the school systems will not admit 450-foot giants existed or that angels came down and mated with humans. The world is lying about cosmology and they could have fabricated history as well. It’s a journey for truth that I never thought I would find myself in but it's one I’m glad to be a part of.

As always don’t believe a word I say and research it for yourself, may the Ruach Hakodesh guide you on your journey for the truth.

(Note: Some copies of 1 Enoch do not agree with what number a verse is, for example in one it might read for a specific quote, chapter 1:2-4 and another 1:5-6. However, the verses will still be in the same chapter.)
